CCTV cameras have been installed to help prevent and detect criminal activity in a nanded village in Pune. The system has been set up in WIFI to help create a safer community for residents and the cameras will record footage 24 hours a day. Footage will be monitored by Grampanchayat, with officers actively monitoring the cameras to detect and respond to incidents as they happen. The council will work with Police on the scheme, sharing images with the police control room and officers on patrol. CCTV from the cameras can also be produced as evidence to support any police or council-led investigations.
